Las Vegas has an unusual number of guard-gated communities — neighborhoods with a staffed gate, not just a keypad. For many luxury buyers relocating here, that's high on the wish list.
Guard-gated vs gated
A gated neighborhood usually has a remote or code-operated gate. A guard-gated community has staff at the entrance, and often roving patrols and guest management. The extra service shows up in HOA dues.
Where to look
- Summerlin: The Ridges, Red Rock Country Club, and The Summit Club.
- Queensridge: custom estates and high-rise residences between Summerlin and the city.
- Southern Highlands: the golf-club enclave just south of the Strip.
- MacDonald Highlands & Ascaya: Henderson foothills with big Strip views.
- Anthem Country Club in Henderson.
- Rhodes Ranch in the southwest — guard-gated at a wider range of price points.
- SouthShore at Lake Las Vegas for lakefront living.
What to ask
- Total dues (master + sub-association) and what's included.
- Golf or club membership requirements — some are optional, some aren't.
- Architectural review rules if you plan to remodel or build custom.
- Guest and contractor access procedures.
Touring guard-gated communities requires gate access arranged in advance — another reason to talk with us before your trip. Also see our HOA guide.
